This 2004 Mercedes- Benz came to us with a leaking rear main seal and a leaking water pump. A rear main seal is the seal at the rear of the engine’s crankshaft that is responsible for keeping oil from leaking out the rear of the engine and into the transmission. When a leak forms in the rear main seal it allows the engine oil to seep into the transmission often causing an oil drip at the front of the transmission’s bell housing.
